Innerwheel Club of Gangtok organized its second state # Run on 27th March
This year the theme was “Say No to Single Use Plastic “and the event was partnered by State Pollution Control board .
The run was flagged off by Honourable minister of Forest, environment and wildlife, mines, mineral and geology and science and technology, Shri Karma Loday Bhutia.
There were 3 categories for 15 to 29 years, 30 to 49 years and 50 and above category. More than 300 participants took part in the event. The participants ranged widely in age as well as profession. The oldest competitor was 68 year old Mrs N Bhutia.
The winners were awarded trophies by Honourable minister of urban and housing development, food and civil supplies and consumer affairs Shri Arun Upreti. Both the chief guests lauded the efforts of Innerwheel Club of Gangtok to bring about an awareness against use of plastics.
Innerwheel Club is acknowledges the support of government, various departments, police, GMC and public at large and media personnels for their support and encouragement in making this event a success.
