Inner Wheel Club Mitra, Tinsukia observed Earth Day with a beautiful message “Our continuing
efforts in our everyday lives will make this beautiful planet thrive”. Echoing the same sentiment and
keeping in touch with the idea of preservation and sustainability, the club observed “Earth Day” by
distributing Dustbins and wash basin in our adopted school. The club members also donated
Dustbins in an old-age home located in Tinsukia, entitled, Amar Ghar and taking the philanthropic
endeavour to a further height, they also did the same to Bangia Sishu Vidyalaya and in a Diagnostic
centre, entitled, Ultralab Tinsukia. We’re all familiar with the age old saying, Cleanliness is next to
godliness, where there is cleanliness, the chances of diseases also reduce quite significantly.
Believing the same, the club members also asked the students and the teachers to develop a regular
habit of using Dustbins in their premises to keep the environment clean and sanitary.
The program ended with a health check up of the elderly people of Amar Ghar.
