In support of Women’s Health and Respect, the Innerwheel Club of Shillong installed a Kiosk- a breast-feeding booth at Bethany Hospital, to ensure privacy and dignity of lactating women. The Kiosk was inaugurated by Dr Adreena Lyngdoh, DMHO, who was the Chief Guest for the day while Smt Geeta Sarin, IW Chairman, District 324, was the Guest of Honour. The Kiosk has the capacity to accomodate 4-5 women at a time. Immediately after the installation, lactating mothers at the Hospital premises, came forward to use this booth for nursing their infants, expressing much gratitude to Innerwheel Club for providing this private space to them. The inauguration was followed by Talks on Maternal and Child Care by prominent doctors from Bethany Hospital. 45% of the Project expenditure was borne by the Club, whereas 55% was contributed by the Club President. The project was covered by the Media and has gained instant recognition and applause.
