Since, this is the breastfeeding week , the main focus was on breastfeeding, it’s benefit and do’s and don’t s. In alliance with Hayden Hall and with the help of Sister Chunku, we took upon this occassion to celebrate with the village mothers and children. The community development workers of Hayden Hall spoke on the importance of Breastfeeding, breast cancer precautions and burping ,very important after breastfeeding. The CDW also checked haemoglobin of the mothers.
We distributed umbrellas, shopping bags, biodegradable sanitary napkins, chocolates to them. A sumptuous meal and shopping bags was sponsored by our secretary Lalita Tamang. Baby clothes were sent by our member Aditi Biswas. Wallet pouches were sponsored by Kum Kum di and myself.
It was indeed a fruitful day spent there, experiencing a full day of village life along with them. We plan to take up more projects like this in future.
