Personal and Professional
- Passed Senior Cambridge from Loreto Convent, Darjeeling. While at school, was an active member of LTS (Leaders Training Service) which shaped my outlook in life.
- Spent my formative years in Darjeeling, a small town nestling among the Himalayas. Did my B.A and M.A with History Honours and took a diploma in teaching.
- Spent thirty years as a High School Teacher and after retirement did another five years at an international school in Yangon, Myanmar.
- A widow and a single mother. My husband who died 22 years ago was a member of the Rotary Club of Darjeeling.
- Two children, Annesha and Kaustav. Annesha lives in New York City with her husband who is a doctor. She works for an NGO, Asia Initiative. My son is a corporate lawyer working for Reliance in Bangalore.
